Dear C. Nwosu,

There are a couple of places you can look to get the perspective from DRC about the Lubanga trial and the ICC. First, on the Commentary section of this website - http://www.lubangatrial.org/category/commentary/ - we have posted transcripts of radio shows in the DRC, which include interviews with individuals from Kashugho and Goma, DRC. Second, the Institute for War and Peace Reporting works with local African journalist to produce stories from ICC situation countries, including the DRC. Those stories can be found here: http://iwpr.net/programme/international-justice-icc.

I am trying to get an understanding of what the local sentiments are in Ituri regarding Lubanga. What do people directly involved think of him and these charges? How much of this is the ICC possibly inflating to hold him accountable for the wrongdoings of many?

It is disgraceful that this trial is wholly base on fabricates evidences. The so called child soldiers names can speak for itself as Nyeki for instance is not a name from Itury. This name has been joined to a popular name fom Djugu ( Djago) secondly UPC would have never had meeting in Beni which is Mbussa Nyamwesi' s head quarter, where the killing of bunia and Itury civilians were organised from. These lies can trade well for convincing audiences whereas they do not bear a lot true. It would have been good to be truthful about Bunia, Many innocent people lost their live for the reason unknown to them. it would be better if this trial was not so much politically motivate than the need to established the truth about the plaint of bunia people. Mbussa nyamwessi is minister of current government in kinshasa. the list of the list of remote or close perpetors can be long.
